Before I decided to start DemiLeadership, I chose to continue updating my skills in order to mentor new leaders. After 35 years in education I know that exceptional leaders need exceptional mentors.

Improving schools by improving leaders

What’s Missing in School Leadership? Today’s leaders are at a lost when faced with making split second decisions. The ability to think on your feet takes a great deal of practice. When the problems of the world are on your shoulder, you must be able to quickly analyze a situation and determine the best path to take with the least amount of fallout. Being the leader means being the target. The object is not to be hit at any given point in time. Keep the following points in mind at all times. 1. Be strategic when making decisions 2. Don’t waiver once a decision is made regarding a problem 3. Take responsibility for any backlash 4. Take notes – a similar problem is waiting around the corner 5. Remember – keep the faith – whatever decision you make is a learning experience
